Boys
Since our inaugural spring season of 2011, the AYLC boys lacrosse program has grown significantly. Now fielding teams in every available age group, the boys program is focused on developing excellent lacrosse players, exceptional young men, and excited parents and families in the stands.
The boys coaching staff and administration prides itself on teaching the game through a focus on fundamentals, fast-paced play, and a fierce commitment to the spirit of the game. Lacrosse is often referred to as the fastest game on two feet. With that in mind, the AYLC boys program teaches an exciting brand of high-speed lacrosse.
Our entry level program for the boys youth program is open to boys in grades 1 through 3. With emphasis on developing a strong lacrosse foundation, coaches focus on teaching fundamentals including scooping, passing, catching, shooting, and beginning to learn some aspects of gameplay.
Open to boys in the 4th and 5th grades, fundamentals of lacrosse are taught with a focus on expanding a player's lacrosse IQ. Coaches take players through drills and game-play scenarios to help them understand strategy and grow their understanding of the game. Players experience the various positions on the field including face-off and goalie.
Open to boys in grades 6 through 8, this program exposes players to a competitive level of lacrosse. Coaches build on the foundations with the goal to expand a player's lacrosse IQ and understanding of game strategy. Players can expect to be challenged at practice sessions.
